Beatrixpark Amsterdam received a statue as a gift for its 80th anniversary: Future Past Glory. This monumental sculpture has been unveiled in honor of the first female urban planner in Amsterdam: Jakoba Mulder. Artist duo Heringa and van Kalsbeek made sure this shiny eye-catcher was badguy-proof: “Try hanging on it!”. Josephine was asked to make a drawing of the official part of the opening and made a coloring page for the children. While the councilor thanked the board, the belly band played, the dogs sniffed curiously and jumped around. Hooray to Jakoba and the friends of the park!
